What filling do you suggest for chocolate Groom's cake?
Hello! We need some help deciding on a filling for a chocolate cake. The cake is the Groom's cake and the lady making it said she can do any filling, all we had to do was ask.
But what goes good with chocolate, other than more chocolate? I don't like cherry filling and our wedding cake is strawberry with Bavarian creme filling.
Ideas would be appreciated.

- French Vanilla i have 6 brothers and they love it as well as their friends
- We had a chocolate liquor cake for the groomsman which is a southern tradition. In my opinion it was better! - Congrats!
- Well my chocolate groom cake is always filled with protein
- CHERRIES of course !
- I'm partial to coconut or german chocolate. Or maybe hazelnut milk chocolate.
- coconut is good
- Chocolate cream, the lighter the better. You can flavor it with liqueur if you like. Grand marnier goes well with chocolate.
- You have so many to choose from such as, raspberry or lemon, liqueur-based flavors like Amaretto or Frangelico. White chocolate also is used extensively. And if you can’t decide on a single flavor, consider a different one for each tier
- You could make a smore replica, or my personal favorite is orange and chocolate. Or raspberry, like a truffle!
- raspberry mousse....
white chocolate mousse
good luck with your wedding!!!
- a nice thick layer of cheese will get peoples attention!
- Fill it with a cheese cake mixture (vanilla, amaretto or plain). Not the cheese cake you bake but the no back cheese cake. It's much smoother and it holds up longer when used as a filler. It also goes great with chocolate. Many blessing to you.
- Raspberry would be very good. A walnut creme would also be very good. It really all depends on what you like. I would not go with more chocolate. A little flavor variety is good. Besides, after all the champagne and other foods at the reception, I would say to definately take it easy on the food and drink. You don't want to start out the honeymoon by having to rub each others aching tummies on your wedding night. I would only suggest one other thing and that is to enjoy your wedding day however you 2 see fit. It is your day, your memories, and the 2 of you that will be spending the rest of your lives together. You will be one.
- Chocolate genache, a mix of homemade strawberry and raspberry jam, almond and vanilla flavored Italian butter-cream icing, or cheesecake filling!
- I ate a cake that was filled with dulce de leche (kind of a creamy butterscotchy caramel) and chocolate -- it was to die for.
- strawberry filling
kahula filling
mint kahula filling
chocolate mousse filling
raspberry filling
your choice of berry mousse filling
- Ask the groom!!!
- strawberry's because chocolate and strawberry go together
- Raspberry! Chocolate and raspberry together is one of my favorite things, and I know many others who love it.
- I love, love, love German chocolate cake, so what about that as a filling-coconut with that sticky stuff as well. Yummy, or as they say in Germany, Lecker!
- chocolate and raspberry!
- If it's the GROOM's cake, how about getting HIS choice...
Suggestions: hazelnut cream, coconut cream, cream cheese....
- V_A_N_I_L_L_A is CHOCOLATE bestfriend!!!!
fyi, i dont like cherry filling also.
my second opinion is grape fruit filling....that was always be great everytime i ate it....
Happy Wedding!!!!
- More chocolate. Make the chocolate lovers truly happy, and have chocolate filling.
- What about vanilla? It's plain but it's a no miss with chocolate!
- raspberry, chocolate hazelnut ganache, chocolate ganache (use white for a contrast when the cake is cut), canoli is always good, orange buttercream, caramel, etc. Anything that tastes good with chocolate!
- Apricot! I know it sounds weird but once you try it- OMG! Our local bakery uses an apricot puree so it isn't too sweet. See if the woman that is making your cake will make you a couple different fillings to sample that way you have something that is just right. But try the apricot at some point. Congratulations!
