- White with buttercream frosting is good!
- strawberry
- Strawberry.
- I like cheese filling or Strawberry!!!!
- Is it your wedding?
If it is, you get whatever kind you want and she can just not eat it. It is YOUR day. People work around YOU.
- Vanilla maybe,,,,,,my mom does something with almonds every1 loves it its really good..,
chocolate for a wedding? i dont think so.
- The whip cream you'll be eating off her vagina during the honey moon!!
- choclate cake is lovely but the only problem is that it makes you fat
- Dude, beer flavored wedding cake. YEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAH!!!
- Chocolate and vanilla! Send me a piece PLEASE!
- I, don't really think there is a best flavor for any cake but if i must say it would be tres leches
- Yellow cake with buttercream frosting...
- Red Velvet, my cousin had it at his wedding....sooooo good. Everyone does strawberry, very cliche
- I love chocolate also but I think a white cake is best for a wedding. There are lots of people who are allergic or don't like chocolate. It won't stain your dress if it is white either. I think just a good buttercreme frosting instead of a fruit filling is the best. Again, you have people with preferences of fruit.
- I would recommend White Velvet, but there are many flavors - see below:
White Velvet- A creamy moist white cake with the texture of velvet, can be marbled with Chocolate
Carrot - The one and only true carrot cake Fresh Carrots, pecans and Pineapple making this cake the moistest of them all.
Strawberry- The newest creation Strawberries ground into a velvet white cake creating a flavorful sensation. Pink in color.
Champagne- Pink real champagne in a moist cake, filled with Whip cream and strawberries are great.
Coconut- A delightful Moist Yellow cake with coconut shavings blended. within.
Banana-Fresh Bananas done like Grandma, moist the real deal
Spice- Looking for something different, Flavorful with all the right Spices
Red Velvet- Wow with just the right amount of everything. Red in color
Yellow- A classic moist yellow cake
- I had a carrot cake at my wedding but I have been to a wedding where they had rum cake and vanilla cake with a raspberry sauce.
- there are usually layers in cake so why don't you have a small show cake to cut and then a sheet cake of her favorite flavor or try strawberry short cake that is a good one I tryed at a wedding once. It is cut and put on plates as a serving anyway so no one will notice that you had a sheet cake cut up to serve.
- get a tiered cake with different flavors you and your partner should choose the flavors
- Sure it is! Nowadays ppl use all kinds of different fillings for wedding cakes; pretty much whatever the bride and groom want! Red velvet is good; jam fillings are also good...also, you can make only 1/2 the layers choc. and the other layers something else--my friend who just got married in June did that, so the ppl who didn't like chocolate could still enjoy a piece of cake. :)
- Well I think the best flavour for wedding cake is fruit cake but if it's a three tier cake then the bottom two are usually fruit and the top is sponge. Now usually you don't cut the top teir but if you like chocolate cake so much have it as chocolate and you and your wife can have that instead of fruit cake as a special treat.
But view my sources and Martin Brown can help with your situation if you still need further help.
Hope it helps.
Have a good wedding.
- Some people have different flavors for the different tiers of cake. We had vanilla on one, one was spice, and one was chocolate.
- Because of food allergies cake should be of natural favors. I found from the experience that nobody is allergic to cherries, which are tasty and refreshing filling with the white cake.
- Chocolate and Vanilla with Strawberry Whipped Cream Filling.
- strawberry and chocolate
- I hate to sound mean but it's your wedding and it should be what you and your significant other want not your niece. If you guys want chocolate go for it. The custard filling is good along with a whipped cream topping because it's not to sweet.
- I agree with some of the posters. You should get a layered cake and get different flavors on the layers.
My best friend is getting married next month and is having 2 flavors in her cake: almond and white.
- Choc is always the best..but vanilla signifies love.. It was the first flavour to be tried while making a cake flavoured...so the first sweet that bride presents to groom can be vanilla.u can always keep choco chips over this cake.so she can remove them.something reaaly different can be a strawberry moose over vanilla.think abt it.best wishes. :)
- How many tiers will you have? Why not a different cake for each tier? Or instead of the traditional style tiered cake, you can rent a cake stand from any party rental supply place. Look for the one that holds the "tiers" separately like a staircase and put a different cake (5-7 I think) on each "step". I went to a wedding that did this, it was cool, the top one had the little bride and groom decoration and was a bit smaller then the other cakes consisted of a chocolate/chocolate cake, carrot cake, strawberry, and the rest were white cakes with different fillings. They were all simply decorated in white frosting. It was a nice change.
- Well, I will start to venture along the same lines too... I'm as well planning a wedding. Ummm... my sister stated a ameretto cake is good. Mostly, when you search for a wedding cake caterer they have exotic flavors and ingredients which you can select that will protect those whom have food alergies... Its your day and others should as well enjoy it with you.. don't take those who say overlook your neice... how insensitive. Yeah look out for those who has the alergy so everybody could enjoy your day and remember it as a bliss... Best of Luck...
- red velvet, vanilla almond
- my sisters are planing their weding and they decided not have a cake wedding just a buffet of deserts and just for the tradition and the picture you can have a little cake
- I love white cake, raspberry filling is my fav, but strawberry or lemon cake and filling are good, too. Ask your baker, there are lots of options, like tropical flavors, or carrot cake. You can still have your chocolate, have the cake topper in chocolate, and the rest of the cake in other flavors. Or make the layer you and your husband will cut as man and wife in chocolate. Make sure the baker knows not to let the chocolate touch the white cake.
Another solution is to have the actual wedding cake in chocolate, and have a sheet cake in another flavor, this time be sure the cake cutter knows to make sure she uses another knife, or wash the knife before she uses it to cut the white cake.
I said strawberry, but be aware niece, and others, may be allergic to that, too.
Watch Food Network, they have shows about wedding and other cakes, saw one last night, and watch the bridal shows on other channels, they always show and discuss the cake. Ask Martha Stewart! She has a question blog site thing, and she says she monitors it. Lots of wedding cake websites, and talk to your baker, she might have ideas, and could discuss cost cutting ideas, if price is an issue.
What a considerate bride, no bridezilla here! and best wishes to the bride, and congratualations to the groom!
- At my wedding I had a marble cake and it was better to and for me than the creep I married. (ha ha)
- Have a yellow bride's cake with white buttercream and a chocolate groom's cake with strawberry filling and chocolate cream cheese icing. Yummy!
Congrats to you!
- If you love chocolate, then have chocolate!!! So one future niece can't have any, so what...when it's her wedding day she gets to pick the cake
- We had chocolate and I love chocolate! A lot of bakeries will let you choose more than one flavor so you should ask.
The worst cake I've ever tasted was almond. Yuck. Plus some people are allergic to nuts if you care.
I like mouse as a filling. You can do white cake with chocolate mouse and your niece could not eat the filling and still be ok. Or you could do lemon or strawberry or coffee mouse!
- cookies n cream nousse filling is wonderful
- a classic white cake with a hint of almond and butter cream icing
- My choice was caramel mud cake (no chocolate though). I have allergies and so do other people involved in my wedding so our baker went through ingredients we could all have and came up with caramel mud cake, but no chocolate.
It tastes sooo good too!
- Most bakers allow you to get 2 or more different flavors if you choose. So you can have your chocolate (even though most brides only get to eat the single bite during the cake cutting ceremony) and your neice and any other guests who are allergic or don't like chocolate can have something as well. However you will need to clearly inform both the baker and whoever will be cutting the cake at the reception that there is a food allergy. You will need to have the person in charge of cutting the cake use a different knife for each tier otherwise you risk sending your neice to the ER. She can't have a flavor such as red velvet or a cookies and cream filling since those are chocolate based. Even scraping off chocolate mousse from a vanilla cake could send her to the hospital.
Nearly any baker you meet with will automatically use fillings unless you request to not have any. However if you live in or are getting married in a small town, bakers (professional and home-based) seem to find this to be unnecessary extra labor and will charge you more to have fillings.
That said, the best non-chocolate cake I've ever had at a wedding was strawberry with cream cheese filling and buttercream icing on the outside.
