Can you freeze a cake with chocolate cream cheese frosting.?
It's for a miniature wedding cake which I'll be traveling with in an RV. Will need to be frozen about 2 weeks before the happy event. Any recipe hints?

- I think you can. If you're in doubt you can always freeze an unfrosted cake and frost it later.
Good luck! It seems to me cheesecakes, etc freeze well so I think you'll be OK.
- you can but it might taste the same
- No special requiredments. Defrost in the fridge the day before you are going to serve it.
- I freeze my cakes all the time, I think they taste better. So go ahead, don't worry, it can be done without any change to the taste or texture of your cake . I use aluminium foil and then put it in a freezer Zip Lock Bag .
My only concern is if your icing is quite elaborate and specially nice, and I expect it will be if is is a wedding cake, I would freeze the icing apart in a container, thaw it and ice the cake a few hours before it get served.
Hope the wedding is great....good luck!
- I wouldn't freeze it with the cream cheese frosting on it. When cream cheese is frozen, it breaks it down, causing it to crumble and lose it's taste.
- Firstly I Hope You Have Fun VVith This,But A Cake Cant be frozen. If you,do Your flavor will be tarnished and it wont taste right. So I would freeze it at least 15 hrs before the event.
