How do I melt White Chocolate without BURNING IT???!!!!?
I tryed putting it in a pot it first and it almost burned, so I qiuckly took it out and put it in the microwave but it all burned to hell...waaaah! I need ti melt this chocolate for my Red Velvet cake...HELP!!!

- Do it in the microwave at very small intervals of time. With solid chocolate, take it out before the shape is totally gone and liquid. Then you can stir it and it will be liquidly.
- Put the chocolate in a metal bowl, over a saucepan on the stove with an inch or two of boiling water in it. This is called a double boiler, and it works really well for delicate chocolate melting.
- Use a double boiler. If you don't have one you can make one. You can "make" one, by boiling water in a saucepan and then putting a bowl (silver mixing bowl is what I use) over the saucer. While the water is boiling the heat will melt the chocolate without burning it.

- Get a pot of water boiling, over that pot place another pot or bowl. break the chocolate into very small pieces and place int the bowl stirring constantly. It should melt rapidly. Before it is completely melted remove it from the heat and continue to stir. Good Luck, Red Velvet cake is one of my favorites!!

- wow, sounds good! this would not help much. put it in the microwave, yes i know u did but trie doing it at a low temperature. what temp.did u put? what i would do is warm it for about 5-10 secs. then i would take it out and put it in the microwave again for about 5-10 secs or less. repeat till melted.

Ok, other ways, a double boiler.
If you done have one of them, take a casserole dish and break your chocolate up into smaller peices. then put the lid on and place it in the microwave for about 1 to 11/2 min. Let it sitt there awhile (2 or 3 min) and then stir it. works every time for choc chips.
- you need a glass bowl and a sauce pan with a little water in it. Place the chocolate in the bowl and the bowl inside the sauce pan. slowley bring temp of water up to almost boiling. Keep stiring your chocolate until melted.
- I melt chocolate in a double boiler. When I make red velvet cake, I use cocoa powder about 2 1/2 tsp to 3 tsp. When I make German Chocolate I melt the chocolate with about 1/4 cup water. You should try the powder for your red velvet. I've heard mine is to die for. That and German Chocolate are my signature cakes.

- you need a double boiler. You can make one with two pans (pots)when they are close to the same size. Fill the bigger one about halfway with water and put on stove to boil. Put the chocolate broken up or shaved or chopped into the 2nd pan (pot) and put the 2nd pan into the first sitting on the boiling water. Chocolate will melt without burning.

- quick and easy method, simply put a small bowl of chocolate into microwave, cook it for 45 seconds on 50% power; take chocolate out, give it a bit of a stir; put it back into microwave for another 45 seconds on half power and your chocolate should be perfect and ready for using.
- I put a pot of water on to boil and when its boiling turn it down a little where it,s still bubbling and set a metal bowl on top with my chocolate in it, stirring till melted.(glass bowl will work if youre real carefull.)

- Put it in a sauce pan that will fit in another larger sauce pan. Put water in the larger pan and put the smaller pan in the boiling water with the chocolate in it. The boiling water will melt the chocolate without burning.
- If you microwave it, just do on defrost for 20 to 30 seconds at a time stirring in between. Or you can put the chocolate in a bowl and put the bowl in a pot with a little water on the stove on low (like a double boiler) stir it a lot until it melts. Be sure not to get any water into the chocolate because it will ruin the chocolate.
- Melt the chocolate in a double boiler - it limits the temp. seen by the chocolate - works every time
