How to make chocolate pound cake?

I make a pound cake using the recipe on a box of cake. It was a white cake and i used vanilla pudding. Today I thought i might try making a chocolate pound cake. So I did everything the same only used chocolate pudding and a chocolate cake mix. The result was not a pound cake...It didn't taste anything like i expected it to make. How can I make a chocolate pound cake (using cake mix from a box) Thanks

  1. use a pound cake recipe and add 8 oz of melted chocolate with butter if you want. mix them together, pour into pan and bake accordign to dierction of recipe box. it should turn out well
  2. Yummy Low Fat Chocolate Chip Pound Cake

    1 package chocolate cake mix (dark or milk, non-fat is good)
    1 package instant chocolate pudding mix
    1/2 cup applesauce
    1/2 cup water
    4 Egg Beaters egg substitute (or other egg substitute)
    1 (12 ounce) package chocolate chips
    confectioners' sugar

    Mix all ingredients except the eggs, chocolate and confectioners sugar.
    Add eggs one at a time.
    Beat well with a mixer.
    Fold in the chocolate chips.
    Spray Pam on a Bundt pan and pour in the mixture.
    Bake for one hour at 350 degrees F.
    Cool for about twenty minutes and unmold.
    Sift confectioners sugar over the top.
    (sugar optional) Do not refrigerate.


    Microwave Chocolate Pound Cake

    1 package fudge cake mix
    2/3 cup water
    3 eggs
    1 cup sour cream
    1 cup miniature chocolate chips
    Glaze
    1 cup powdered sugar
    1 tablespoon water (Or More)

    Grease and flour a 12-cup microwave bundt cake pan.
    Beat cake mix, water, eggs and sour cream.
    in large mixer bowl on low speed, scraping bowl, until moistened.
    Beat on medium speed, scraping bowl frequently, for about 2 minutes.
    Fold in chocolate chips.
    Pour batter into pan.
    Microwave 9 minutes on 70% power and 6 minutes on 100% power until cake springs back when touched lightly in center.
    Cool 10 minutes, invert on wire rack or.
    heatproof serving plate.
    Remove pan; cool cake completely.
    Mix glaze ingredients until spreadable.
    Add more water as needed.
    Spread cooled cake with glaze, allowing some to drizzle down side.


    Easiest Chocolate Chip Pound Cake

    1 (3 1/2 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding
    1 (3 1/2 ounce) package chocolate instant pudding
    1 (18 1/2 ounce) package yellow cake mix with pudding
    4 eggs
    1/2 cup vegetable oil
    1 1/2 cups water
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    8 ounces chocolate chips

    Mix all ingredients except chocolate chips together for two minutes.
    Fold in chocolate chips.
    Spray a bundt pan with non-stick cooking spray.
    Pour in mixture.
    Bake at 325 for 40-45 minutes.
  3. I have two recipes for you:

    1.) CHOCOLATE CHIP POUND CAKE

    1 box Dromedary Pound Cake Mix
    1 sm. bag Nestles chocolate chips
    1 tsp. almond extract
    Powdered sugar

    Mix pound cake as directed. Add 1 teaspoon almond extract. Put chocolate chips in blender and chop just a little. Fold chocolate bits and pieces into batter. Bake according to package directions. When cake cools, dust with powdered sugar.

    2.) Chocolate Pound Cake
    All you have to do is add about 1/3 a cup of unsweetened or semi-sweet cocoa powder to the package (batter) of pound cake mix.
  4. This first recipe has made a great chocolate pound cake for me in the past...however I have found that the BEST chocolate pound cake was made from scratch. I left both the cake box recipe and the homemade one incase you are feeling adventurous(its really worth the extra steps) hope this helps out.

    1 chocolate cake mix
    1 package instant pudding mix, and pie filling mix (4-serv size)
    4 eggs
    1 cup water
    1/3 cup vegetable oil
    1/2 cup frosting

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees,grease a bundt,tube,or 9x13 cake pan.
    Set aside.
    Add all igredients except frosting to mixing bowl.
    Beat well.
    Pour into prepared pan.
    Bake for 50-60 minutes.
    Until it passes the toothpick test.
    The touch test isn't always accurate on this cake.
    Let rest for 10-15 minutes then invert onto cake plate.
    I leave the 9x13 in the pan.
    Let cool.
    Heat frosting in microwave till pourable.
    Drizzle over cake and let sit until frosting is set.

    and the one from the scratch-
    1/2 lb butter
    1/2 cup shortening
    3 cups sugar
    5 eggs
    3 cups sifted flour
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon baking powder
    1/2 cup cocoa
    1 1/4 cups milk
    1 teaspoon vanilla

    Cream butter and shortening together in large bowl.
    Gradually add sugar.
    Add eggs, one at a time.
    Sift flour, salt, baking powder and cocoa together.
    Gradually add to butter and shortening mixture.
    Add milk and vanilla.
    Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 25 minutes in greased and floured pans.
    Makes 2 loaves or 1 tube pan.
  5. Chocolate Pound Cake:

    1½ hours 10 min prep
    20-25 slices

    1 cup butter
    1/2 cup shortening
    3 cups sugar
    5 eggs
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    3 cups flour
    1/2 teaspoon baking powder
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    4 tablespoons cocoa
    1 cup milk

    1. Cream together the butter and shortening.
    2. Add sugar and mix well.
    3. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
    4. Add vanilla.
    5. Sift all dry ingredients together.
    6. Add dry ingredients and milk alternately until creamy.
    7. Bake in 10 inch tube pan or bundt pan.
    8. Bake at 325 degrees F for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
    9. If you do not want a chocolate pound cake, just leave off the cocoa.
