I have a yellow cake mix and a bag of chocolate chips, if I mix the two and bake the cake, would it turn out?

I'm going to frost it with just vanilla icing.

  2. yes it will just dont over do how much u put in also make sure they are the small one kisses are not a baking product lol
  3. I have done this and it comes out real good, I also put colored shots in the cake so it looks like confetti!
  4. this will work fine...i have done it several times...the only thing you might want to do is add an extra tablespoon of flour...it thickens the cake mix a bit so the chocolate chips dont all sink to the bottom
  5. yummy!
  6. I think you are taking about a basic buttercake mix (well thats what we call it here) and if you are the answer is a definate yes, but I would only add about a cup of them.

You can add lots of things to a basic cake mix - try adding 2 tablespoons cocoa powder for a chocolate cake, add 2 mashed bananas for a banana cake, instead of the milk in the recipe use orange juice and add a table spoon of orange zest for an orange cake, etc.

    Have fun experimenting.
  7. The chips might sink to the bottom of the batter as it's cooking. You can prevent this a bit by refridgerating the batter for an hour (stir every so often). At least, that's what you do with cookie dough. Try chopping or crushing the chips so they're not as heavy. Generally, it's better to use mini-chips for cakes, I find. You could also try coating the chips in a teaspoon of the dry batter (or flour), which helps.
  8. Ya i did that only with strawberry cake mix
2 layer with fresh bananas in between cake layers.
  9. Yummy!

  12. Yes it will work fine, but add the chips after mixing the cake mix completely and fold them in by hand. Chips do not do well with electric mixers
  13. Yes it works...
  14. yes it will work but u need to coat ur chips in flour toss them with about a tbsp of flour before adding it into ur mixed batter. that way they dont all just sink to the bottom. happy baking!
  15. LOL ! I had a Tupperware party last night, and that's exactly what the the Tupperware lady did.... and it was beautiful !!

She made 2 cakes - one using pudding mix with the cake mix and chips, and the other without - just cake mix and chips.
    They were both delicious !!
