where can i find suitable cake for my baby's first birthday ? i wish to have it gluten, egg & sugar free.?

i can consider baking myself if there is any suggestions. I was thinking maybe using ingredients she's familiar with, milk and some fruits. welcome inputs and thoughts on chocolate, my favourite but not sure if she should take it.

  1. Unless your baby is allergic to those ingredients.....let her enjoy some real cake!!! She's a kid!
  2. im not sure its possible to make a cake without all 3 of those ingredients!

supermarkets have a reasonable range of "free from" foods these days, have a look through.

by the way, what is wrong with eggs? if you worry about salmonella, buy free range.
sugar and gluten i dont need to ask about.
  3. I saw some recipes at the following site:

wow, you could be vegan, but I sincerely hope for you and your baby, that she is not diabetic and coeliac disease affected as well; otherwise, a little of anything cant be too harmful, and makes a choice of cooking a lot easier too! Best of luck!
  4. Try this website. There are some good gluten free/dairy freee recipes with very little sugar in them. You could perhaps replace the sugar with a sweetener.

  5. is that what you fatsos are on about now? gluten? im just checking up on this, thanks.
  6. If you don't have food intolerances I can see how you'd think this was next to impossible. You'd be surprised at how many xyz-free options there are out there. I just found out I was gluten intolerant less than a year ago, and there's a whole food industry out there for people with food intolerances.

If you go to www.glutenfreeforum.com there is a message board where you can ask any questions you have. I'm not as familiar with egg-free and sugar-free baking but I know that there are several people on there with egg or sugar intolerances that would have product information or maybe even some recipes.

At health food stores they will usually carry Egg replacer, made by Ener-G Foods I believe.

I'm not sure if you can use it, but I've heard good things about splenda in baking. You mentioned using fruit though, so I'm not sure if you're avoiding it. I know you can use apple sauce in place of oil in a regular recipe. I don't see why it wouldn't work in any other type of recipe.

Anyway, come by that forum and someone should be able to help.
